I’m Kevin Francis and in August 2018 I am cycling the French Divide – a 2275km unsupported, off-road bikepacking brevet (a cycling adventure with no assistance) with 32000 metres of climbing (that’s the equivalent of three and a half times up Everest – eeek!) in a maximum of fifteen days.

There are various reasons for taking part in this event, not least being the fact that I am clearly crazy! One of the big ones though is to raise some awareness of Haemochromatosis UK and hopefully some funds along the way for them too. Haemochromatosis is a little known, but horrid and all too prevalent genetic condition. It killed my step-father three years ago when he was just 73 and now I have the chance to do something positive for the charity.
